asked the Minister of Food the amount of the barley harvest for 1945; how much still remains in this country; and the names of the countries to which barley has been exported, and the amount sent to each one.

The latest estimate of the barley crop harvested in the United Kingdom in 1945 is 2,106,000 tons. No estimate is possible of the amount still unconsumed. The total quantity of barley exported from this country between 31st July, 1945, and 31st December, 1945, was 23,023 tons. The barley was exported to the countries shown below and for the purposes indicated:
