HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 cc11-2W
92. Mr. W. Shepherd

asked the Minister of War Transport the percentage of accidents, involving injury to or loss of human life, in which both omnibuses and trolleybuses were primarily concerned in the London area.

Mr. Strauss

In 1945, 733 persons were killed on the roads in the City and Metropolitan Police districts. Omnibuses, coaches and trolley vehicles were primarily involved in 18 per cent. of these fatalities. I regret that no information is available about the extent to which vehicles of these types were primarily involved in non-fatal accidents.

Mr. Lipson

asked the Minister of War Transport how many children of 15 years of age and under were killed by men and women drivers, respectively, during the last recorded period.

Mr. Strauss

I regret that the information is not available.
