HL Deb 20 June 1946 vol 141 c1086WA
VISCOUNT ELIBANK

asked His Majesty's Government whether, in view of the hardships arising therefrom, they will give instructions to revert to the system as soon as possible of making quarterly instead of six monthly demands for payment of telephone accounts.

THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)

It is the intention of His Majesty's Government to revert to the system of quarterly telephone accounts as soon as an adequate margin of trained staff and office machinery is available to undertake the additional work. It is not possible at present to say when the change can be made.
