§ Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, having regard to the urgency of more economic development in Nyasaland and Northern Rhodesia he will direct the Governments of Nyasaland and Northern Rhodesia to utilise the services of the expert committee on electrical development, now in East Africa, before they return to this country.

I am satisfied that the right course is to await the report on East Africa before considering whether this or a similar Commission should be sent to Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland, where the problems are in any case not entirely similar
