§ 91. Mr. Astorasked the Secretary of State for War if he will set up a public court of inquiry, to which the Press will be invited and to which no relevant witnesses will be barred, concerning the running of civilian internment camps in the British-occupied zone of Germany since they were first established.
§ Mr. LawsonNo, Sir. The report which I received from Germany on these camps was very full, and the statement made by my hon. Friend on 2nd July was a fair summary of it. It shows that those concerned did all that was possible in difficult circumstances and I do not think anything would be gained by setting up a public court of inquiry.
