§ Sir B. SmithThe number of bad shell eggs in present importations from all sources amounts to less than one egg per box of 360 eggs. Every consignment of Shell eggs to this country is examined by experts and their reports are sent to the Governments of the supplying countries. The figures of loss I have quoted are a reflection of the care taken to prevent the importation of bad eggs.
