§ Mr. Proctorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the necessity of recruiting men of wide experience in the Civil Service, he will consider raising the maximum age of entrance for a permanent position in the Civil Service to 45 years of age.
§ Mr. DaltonThe scheme of reconstruction recruitment to the Civil Service set out in Cmd. 6567 provides for the retention in a permanent capacity of substantial numbers of war entrants to the Civil Service up to the age of 50. In addition the Government have recently advertised 50 vacancies in the administrative class for candidates up to age 45.
