HC Deb 21 February 1946 vol 419 c285W
Captain Bullock

asked the Minister of Works when it is proposed to return the bust of Oliver Cromwell to the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Tomlinson:

The bust will be returned when its pedestal, at present standing in Westminster Hall, is replaced in the Lower Waiting Hall in the near future. Owing to the great weight of the pedestal, its removal will be a matter of some difficulty and will have to be carried out at a convenient opportunity when the movements of Members and of the public will not be interfered with.
