§ 75. Mr. Haleasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Rose Mill, Hollinwood, Oldham, has recently changed hands and that the textile machinery is to be dismantled for sale abroad; and what action he proposes to take.
§ Sir S. CrippsYes, Sir. I am informed that this mill, which reopened in May last, was sold because it was unable to obtain sufficient labour for efficient operation. Applications for licences to export some of the plant have been received and, after full consideration of all the circumstances, I have decided that the licences should be granted.
