§ 91. Mr. Skinnardasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the Chairman of the Port of Spain Assessment Board has been nominated as a member of the Trinidad Legislative Council; whether any other members of the Trinidad Legislature hold 93W offices of emolument under the Crown; and if he will take action to ensure the enforcement of the constitutional prohibition of holders of such offices from being members of the legislative council.
Mr. Creech JonesYes, Sir. There is one other Member of the Legislative Council who receives fees as a member of the Rent Restriction Board. The position of these two members is at present under examination by the Governor, and I am awaiting his considered views on the matter.
