§ 104. Mr. J. McKayasked the Secretary of State for War if he will hold an inquiry into the incident at Irvine on 13th/14th September last and publish the findings, in view of the effect on the morale of Polish soldiers of reports which they believe misrepresent the facts.
§ Mr. BellengerAn inquiry has already been held, but it was not possible to discover who was responsible for the incidents described by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland in answer to an earlier Question and no disciplinary action was taken. Shortly afterwards the Polish troops were moved from the vicinity of Irvine but for reasons entirely unconnected with the incident.
