§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Secretary of State for War why Regular Army officers with less than 18 months' overseas service are being granted end of war leave while other officers in the same command with about four years overseas' service are being deferred in their release groups.
§ Mr. Lawson:The grant of end of war leave is in no way related to length of service overseas. It is a brief break allowed to Regular personnel before they continue their service. I have no reason 349W to think that any officer has had his release deferred on operational grounds because of the absence of another officer on end of war leave.
