§ Colonel J. R. H. Hutchisonl00.asked the Minister of Supply what experiments and research are taking place in this country in the development of helicopter flying and manufacture.
§ Mr. Wilmot:Research and experimental work on helicopters is being carried out for my Department at three aircraft firms. Each firm is designing experimental types which it is hoped will lead to the production of small helicopters of the four-seater class for both civil and military uses. Research and experimental work is also in progress at the Royal Aircraft Establishment and the Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment.
