§ 89. Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that 14752677 Private P. Reid, of the Black Watch, is row at the transit camp, Southampton, waiting embarkation to India; and, in view of the fact that he has 20 years' experience in the building trade, including eight years as foreman builder, and is urgently needed on housing work in Ayrshire, if he will order his release.
§ Mr. Bellenger:The soldier is in Group 44. It has not up to the present been necessary to offer Class B block release to men of his occupation in that Group in order to meet the demands of the Ministry of Labour and National Service. I can therefore see no grounds for taking any action in this case.
