68. Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the marriage ban between British nationals and German members of B.A.O.R. will be lifted; and whether he is aware of the disastrous consequences this ban is having on the private affairs of many men.

Mr. Bellenģer:

Provided the German party is a member of His Majesty's Forces there is no ban on such marriages. As regards marriages with other German nationals I would refer my hon. Friend to my right hon. Friend's reply of 5th March to my hon. Friend the Member for Tynemouth (Miss Colman).
