Lieut.-Commander Hutchisonasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether it is now intended to permit temporary civil servants over the age of 30 to take the appropriate examination to enable them to become established.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallI am afraid I am not sure what the hon. and gallant Member has in mind. The arrangements for the establishment of temporary civil servants over the age of 30 are described in paragraphs 31–43 of the White Paper on Recruitment to Established Posts in the Civil Service during the Reconstruction Period, Cmd. 6567, and no alteration of those arrangements is contemplated.
