§ Mr. Bowerasked the Minister of Health under what regulation or order bombed-out people living in a house which has been requisitioned by a local authority and which the owner wishes to recover for his own occupation are allowed to refuse alternative accommodation which the rehousing officer considers to be reasonable.
§ Mr. BevanThere is no such regulation or order. Every effort is made to make available any house which the owner wishes to occupy, but local authorities very properly do their utmost to move existing tenants by persuasion before resorting to compulsion.
