§ Mr. Hoggasked the Secretary of State for War why the categorisation of Class A for compassionate repatriation in respect of parents suffering from incurable disease, and death likely to occur within a very short time, is limited to cancer cases.
§ Mr. LawsonCompassionate repatriation under this heading has not been restricted to cancer cases by regulation; but these cases often present particularly extreme and painful features and in view of the acute shortage of compassionate passages they have naturally figured more prominently among the successful applications than have those of other diseases. Under the present improved conditions it is hoped that it will be found possible to include a wider range of cases of this nature.
