§ Mr. Dumpletonasked the Minister of Health what steps he proposes to take to improve the bad working conditions and hours of nurses in hospitals and institutions.
§ Mr. BevanI certainly do not accept the implication that bad working conditions for nurses in hospitals and institutions are general. Where they exist they are in large part due to the effects of the war. I am giving this matter the most earnest consideration in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service and with the bodies principally concerned and hope to make a full statement within the next few weeks.
