§ Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyreasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether goods imported and exported from the British occupation zone in Germany have to be invoiced in dollars.
§ Mr. J. HyndIt was laid down at Potsdam that the minimum imports re- 1269W quired to maintain the German standard of living at the agreed level should be a first charge on exports. In fulfilment of this decision it was subsequently agreed by the Control Council that exports must be paid for in acceptable currency. As most of the imports which are needed in Germany for some time to come will have to be paid for in dollars most of the exports will also have to be paid for in dollars.
