HC Deb 26 November 1945 vol 416 cc1032-3W
Mr. T. Reid

asked the President of the Board of Trade if the Government factory at Sevenhampton, near Swindon, is likely to be reopened for production, thereby giving employment in the district.

Sir S. Cripps

Negotiations to continue production in one or more of the Government factories at Swindon are at an advanced stage and an announcement will be made in the very near future. It may, however, be necessary to retain the factory at Sevenhampton for storage—at any rate for the time being.
