HC Deb 20 November 1945 vol 416 cc399-400W
Sir B. Neven-Spence

asked the Undersecretary of State for Air what general instructions have been issued by his Department regarding material and stores that may be scrapped or destroyed; and what precautions are taken to see that these instructions are strictly carried out.

Mr. Strachey

A salvage manual containing general instructions for dealing with Royal Air Force stores and equipment which may be scrapped is issued throughout the Service. We have officers whose duty it is to ensure that the instructions are carried out. Nothing is destroyed if it contains material which has a further use, unless its salvage would be uneconomical.
