CrippsI am examining the Location of Retail Businesses Order with a view to seeing whether any changes are desirable at the present time, in the light of our experience, and of the wish of some ex-Servicemen to start business, but I am not yet in a position to make a statement on the subject.
§ Mr. Channonasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the large number of ex-Service men and women now desiring to enter the retail trade, steps will be taken to bring up to date the Register of Withdrawn Traders, instituted by his Department in 1942, and to remove therefrom all who do not reregister within a given period and indicate that it is still their intention to resume retail trading.
