HC Deb 14 November 1945 vol 415 c2284W
Lieutenant W. Shepherd

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps his department are taking to facilitate the repatriation of British women who have married German nationals and who are at present living in Germany and elsewhere under bad conditions.

Mr. Bevin

The general position is that in foreign countries British representatives afford to women of British birth and parentage belonging to the United Kingdom who have married German nationals every assistance in returning to this country, short of the provision of travelling expenses, but including help in arranging their journeys so far as transport facilities permit.
