§ Mr. Kingasked the Minister of Information whether he is aware of the general desire throughout the country for more exhibitions of war weapons, while the latter are still available; what steps are being taken by his Ministry to encourage such exhibitions; and what steps should be taken by those who wish to arrange them.
§ Mr. E. J. WilliamsA number of exhibitions of this type have been arranged by the Ministry of Information. Over 2, 000, 000 people went to see the "Britain's Aircraft" exhibition in London and 3, 500, 000 visited the "Army Equipment" exhibition in London and the provinces. Well over 1, 250, 000 have already seen the "Victory Over Japan" exhibition, which includes a good deal of equipment and is open in Oxford Street now. The "Mulberry" exhibitions now on provincial tour have had attendances of 750, 000. These exhibitions have gone a long way towards meeting public demand, and though I am ready to examine further suggestions, considerations of manpower and materials set a limit to what can be done.
