Sir E. GrahamLittle asked the Under Secretary of State for Air, whether he is aware that two graduates of London University whose names have been submitted to him were released from the ranks of the R.A.F. to accept civilian appointments in that service and are being refused release leave with pay and civilian clothing to which their service as airmen has entitled them; and if he will take steps to remedy this injustice.
§ Mr. StracheyThese ex-airmen were discharged before the introduction of the1716W release scheme and are in consequence ineligible for the release leave appropriate to persons released under that scheme. They are however eligible for civilian clothing benefits and for a payment in lieu of leave in respect of any overseas service they may have rendered.
