§ Mr. Ernest Daviesasked the Assistant Postmaster General the gross receipts from the sale of wireless licences for each of the years 1939–40 to 1944–45, respectively, and for the net receipts after deductions by the Post Office for the same years.

Since then the B.B.C. has been financed by grants-in-aid and no question of deduction arises.
