§ Mr. Cocksasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department by what date the election accounts of Parliamentary candidates at the coming election will have to be paid; and on what date will their deposits, if not forfeited, be returned.
§ Sir D. SomervellElection expenses must be paid and a return thereof made 397W to the acting returning officer within 35 days of the day on which the result of the election is declared. The deposit is returned to a successful candidate as soon as he has taken the oath; the deposits of other candidates, unless forfeited, are returned as soon as practicable after the result of the election is declared.
