Mr. Ross Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of applications which he has received during the last three years for permission to institute proceedings in accordance with the provisions of Section 20 (1) of the Fertiliser and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926; and in how many of such cases his consent has been withheld.

Mr. Hudson

The number of applications made by local authorities for my consent to the institution of proceedings under the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926, during the period 1942 to 1944 was 25, and in 14 of these I found it necessary to withhold my consent.

asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of returns of the results of the analysis of samples submitted to agricultural analysts in England and Wales during the last 12 months as shown by the quarterly returns made under Section 18 of the Fertiliser and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926.
