§ Rear-Admiral Beamish
asked the Minister of Agriculture what progress has been made towards recruiting the necessary staff for the inspection of milk producers' premises under the Food and Drugs (Milk and Dairies) Act, 1944; and whether the appointed day can now be named.
§ Mr. T. Williams
No steps have yet been taken to recruit additional staff for the purpose mentioned by my hon. and gallant Friend, and it is unlikely that any998W progress in that direction will be made while the war with Germany continues. Consequently my right hon. Friend is not in a position to give any indication of when the "appointed day" for the Act of 1944 to come into operation will be fixed.
