§ Mr. Hewlettasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can 1928W give an assurance that now that road communication has been opened between India and China the utmost supply of war material, consistent with our requirements elsewhere will be placed at the disposal of the Chinese Government to enable them to carry on more effectively in their own country.
§ Mr. George HallMy hon. Friend will of course remember that by inter-Allied arrangement, the major responsibility for war-time supplies to China lies with the United States Government. His Majesty's Government have every confidence that the new road communication will be utilised to the utmost practicable limit.
