§ Colonel Ponsonbyasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the arrangement for preliminary negotiations referred to in the Joint Statement in paragraph 3, page 18, Cmd.6709, he will give facilities for representation of, and consultation with, the primary producers of the Dominions and Colonies who would be adversely affected by the elimination or reduction of the preferential tariffs now accorded by the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. MarquandI cannot speak for the Governments of the Dominions, but I assume that they will hold such consultations with their primary producers as they consider necessary. My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for the Colonies, will keep me informed of the views of primary producers in the Colonies.
