§ 110. Mr. Gammansasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that a house at 8, Darwin Road, Southampton, which has been requisitioned by the local authority and for which £ 65 per annum is paid as a fair rent under the Compensation (Defence) Act, 1939, is now being rented by the requisitioning local authority to an occupier at £ 73 6s. 4d. net, with the result that this present occupier is paying an excess of £ 13 6s. 4d. over therent legally payable if he had taken the tenancy direct from the landlord; and whether he proposes to take any action to prevent such injustice to landlords and occupiers in these cases.
