§ Mr. Platts-Millsasked the Undersecretary of State for Air the number of. medical officers in the R.A.F. who, respectively, hold permanent commissions or have agreed to extend their service by four years, which are now current; the number of medical officers who will have been released from the R.A.F. in the second half of this year; and the number of medical officers who will have been recruited in the second half of this year.
§ Mr. StracheyThe number of medical officers holding permanent commissions in the R.A.F. is 139. In addition, a further 56 officers have recently been selected for permanent commissions. 35 officers have been offered extensions of four years— so far five have accepted. 880 medical officers will have been released in the second half of 1945. Recruitment during the same period will have been nil.
