§ Mr. T. Reidasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies for what purposes the allocation of £1,500,000 to Borneo and Sarawak has been made from the funds provided under the Development and Welfare Act, 1945; and how much of this sum is to be allocated to Sarawak.
Mr. Creech JonesThe answer to the first part of this Question is to the same effect as that which I have given to my hon. Friend's Question relating to Malaya. In reply to the second part of the Question, I have not thought it necessary at present to allocate the sum of £1½ million as between Sarawak and North Borneo.
