HC Deb 17 December 1945 vol 417 c1069W
Major J. Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will make available suitable types of flame throwers, surplus to Army requirements, for sale to the public for use in the clearing of ground for replanting woods.

Mr. Lawson

The only types of flamethrowers surplus to Army requirements are unsuitable for use by the general public owing to the training and knowledge necessary to operate them, if danger to life is to be avoided, and the organisation required for servicing them.
