HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 cc561-2W
Squadron-Leader Segal

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that radar mechanics are not kept fully employed at 111 M.U., R.A.F.. M.E.F.; and to what extent he proposes to reduce the existing establishments for radar mechanics in this command.

Mr. Strachey

We are arranging to train surplus radar mechanics (ground) for employment as radar mechanics (air). While they are waiting for local training for these air duties, radar mechanics who are temporarily surplus at No.111 Maintenance Unit are being used for other work. We are looking into the possibility of further reducing their establishment in Middle East Command.
