§ Mr. BuchananIt is estimated that the average numbers of children aged under five and between five and 15 protected by immunisation against diphtheria throughout the first half of 1945 were 137,000 and 611,000 respectively. The numbers of cases of diphtheria among immunised children of these age-groups were 131 and 458 respectively during the half-year. Three cases proved fatal, one being under five and two between five and 15.
