§ Lieut.-Colonel Mackesonasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air how many men could be conveyed from India to the United Kingdom by the R.A.F. during the months of January and February assuming orders to do so regardless of any other consideration and assuming average weather conditions for these months.
§ Mr. StracheyWe are already doing all that is practically possible to bring home from India about 25,000 men of all Services from the beginning of January to the end of February. I am afraid there would be no useful purpose in attempting to calculate another estimate in the circumstances envisaged in this Question.
