HC Deb 12 April 1945 vol 409 c2004W
Lord Willoughby de Eresby

asked the Minister of Health whether he will include the construction of the houses for disabled ex-Servicemen and women within the terms of the Treasury grant at present received by local authorities for the construction of houses for the agricultural population.

Mr. Willink

The 3,000 war-time agricultural cottages to which I assume my hon. and gallant Friend is referring were built to meet war-time needs and received a special subsidy from the Government to meet the extra cost of building in wartime. This subsidy would not be appropriate for cottages built for another purpose at a later date.
