Smithasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the representatives of the United States Government and the Board of Inland Revenue reached any agreement likely to lead to the abolition of double Income Tax before the former returned to the U.S.A.; and, in view of the public importance and urgency of this question, will he take an early opportunity of making a statement upon the position.
