§ Sir G. Owen
asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is the practice of the war agricultural executive committees to give preference to ex-Service men in the appointment of officials under their authority; and whether he is satisfied that this is made clear in Press advertisements of vacancies.
§ Mr. T. Williams
The Committees have been instructed to notify all vacancies on1580W their staffs to the Ministry of Labour and National Service, which has made special arrangements for the registration of men discharged from any of the three Services. The names of any suitable ex-Service men who may be available, even if not fully qualified, are submitted by that Department for vacancies as they arise; there would, therefore, be no advantage in making specific reference to ex-Service men in the Press advertisements.
