§ Mr. Higgsasked the Prime Minister whether he will consider a national memorial to those who have lost their lives in this country by air-raids and flying bombs.
§ The Prime MinisterThis matter cannot be dealt with until after the cessation of hostilities in Europe, when the question of commemoration can be reviewed as a whole. Until then neither the Government nor the local authorities can be in a position to decide whether commemoration should be national or local, or what form or scale of commemoration should be adopted.
