§ Dr. Littleasked the Minister of Food whether in view of the loss in Northern Ireland of marketable potatoes owing to the wet season and the increased cost of production through the demand for a higher standard of grading, he will at once increase the price of this year's potato crop to a figure which will give farmers an adequate return for their labour.
§ Mr. MabaneI am not aware that the effect of either of the factors mentioned has been disproportionately greater in Northern Ireland than in other parts of the United Kingdom. My right hon. and gallant Friend is therefore unable to support the request.
