§ Mr. AmeryThere are six open hearth steel producers in India and eight firms operating electric furnaces. For the year ending 31st March, 1940, the output of steel ingots was 1,070,355 tons and of finished steel 804,469 tons. Exports of steel bars were 9,250 tons.
