§ Mr. Glenvil Hallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his attention has been called to the fact that many women who have lost their husbands in action and who have to enter employment in order to supplement their pension, lose a substantial portion of their pension by deducted Income Tax due to the loss of £140 personal allowance, resulting from the death of their husbands; and whether he will consider the possibility of allowing these pensions to rank as allowed for Income Tax purposes.
