§ Mr. Wraggasked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is the policy of His Majesty's Government in the postwar period to encourage the acquisition by trade organisations or federations of statutory powers for the compulsory regulation of wages, prices and general conditions in industry.
§ Mr. DaltonAs regards wages, I would refer my hon. Friend to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service. As regards prices, statutory control could not, in my view, be suitably delegated to trade organisations.
