§ Mr. Priceasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in cases where men are serving in this country, arrangements can be made occasionally for compassionate leave to enable a man to come home and assist in urgent agricultural work on a small holding where the parent is unable to get any other assistance.
Sir J. GriģģArrangements have been in force since 1941 whereby men may be granted up to 28 days' leave a year under special conditions to do agricultural work if military circumstances permit. The War Agricultural Executive Committee must certify that the individual is essential for the work. Whether it will be possible to continue these arrangements to any appreciable extent the future will show.
