Mr. JohnstonThe number of building workers now serving in the National Fire Service at Stranraer is 28; there have been no serious fires in this district during the last three months. While it is not possible to discharge these men at present from the National Fire Service, they can, under arrangements of long standing, be temporarily released, if necessary, for essential local building work.
