§ Mr. G. Griffithsasked the Minister of Health why the lettings of agricultural workers' cottages are taken out of the hands of local authorities and given to the county war agricultural executive committees.
§ Miss HorsbrughThe war-time agricultural cottages are intended for the special needs of the Government's war-time agricultural programme and the tenants must be selected from this point of view. The county war agricultural executive committees are best qualified to make a selection on this basis and the arrangement is that they will suggest the tenants to the local authority until further notice. The local authority remain responsible for all other matters connected with the letting of the cottages.
